Cancer Mission

What are the European Union’s (EU) missions?

EU missions are a new way to develop concrete solutions to our greatest challenges. In autumn 2021, the European Commission launched five missions that should deliver results by 2030:

  • A Soil Deal for Europe;
  • Restore our oceans and waters;
  • Climate-neutral and smart cities;
  • Adaptation to climate change;
  • Cancer.

Cancer Mission

The Cancer Mission aims to improve the lives of more than 3 million people by 2030 through better prevention, treatment and quality of life. The Cancer Mission has four main objectives:

  • understanding of cancer;
  • prevention and early detection;
  • diagnosis and treatment;
  • quality of life for patients and their families.

These goals are also stated in the Cancer Mission house:
