The Ministry of Social Affairs’ project proposal for the Cancer Center received €2.6 million in funding for the period 2024-2027, supported by 12 endorsements from various partners. The aim is to establish a collaborative structure that aligns with the principles of pan-European cancer-related activities, bringing together different sectors (healthcare, research, education, the pharmaceutical industry, patient associations, and citizen groups) under a unified umbrella organization. The initiative group representatives included M. Bambus (Ministry of Social Affairs), Prof. A. Metspalu (University of Tartu), Dr. V. Valvere (North Estonia Medical Centre), and Prof. K. Palm (EU Cancer Mission).
